The cloister of the ex-convent where the museum is situated, is a place of stratification, alternation, overlapping, and passage. When walking in the cloister, the perception of time slows down and almost disappears. Every object speaks out for different ages; epigraphs, decorations, columns, and statues change the notion of “when” continuously. All the objects placed there define the city's history at different times. This piece acts as a container, a surface made of a precious material that embraces these stories and their symbolic complexity. The design is printed with a corrosive acid on silk and viscose velvet. The weaving structure of this particular velvet allows the acid to act without decomposing it. The fabric is dyed naturally with herbs and treated to look like skin, to resemble a deconsecrated corporal.
