14554 minutes; An Armour of Love is conceived as an extension of the diptych Ways of Dividing Love (2025), in which the colour scheme of the embroidered geometric composition derives from a visual interpretation of the people dearest to me, each of whom chose a coloured thread to represent themselves.
In this work, a second layer of embroidery with metallic threads overlays the underlying coloured embroideries, forming a dense embroidered surface that resembles armour, veiling the underlying “love” while simultaneously preserving it. When viewed closely, the metallic embroidery allows fragments of the original chromatic composition to emerge, creating a tension between visibility and concealment. The work, with its almost sculptural character, thus presents itself as a device for emotional protection, a relief that materialises the defensive and protective dimension of love.
