A public address system (P.A system) is an electronic sound amplification and distribution system with a microphone, amplifier and loudspeakers, used to allow a person to address a large public, for announcements of movements at large and noisy air and rail terminals or a sports stadium. Founded in September 1947, Cyprus Airways served as the flag carrier of Cyprus and was primarily owned by the government. The company had to cease operations on Jan 9, 2015, when the European Commission ruled that a 2012–13 €65m state aid package paid to the company by the Government of Cyprus had been in breach of EU rules and the airline was ordered to pay back the full amount. The island was left without a national air carrier and more than 500 people were left unemployed with their rights uncovered.
The aeroplane shots and audio were taken on a Cyprus Airways aircraft during take-off preparations on Jan 4, 2015, at Larnaca Airport, five days before its' last flight CY337. The final flight was registered with the control tower on January 9, 2015.
